This week's Friday 56 comes from Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks:
'I,' said Berard weightily, 'don't consider them to be friends. I have not invited them to our house and I shall not be calling on them.'

That's a great 56! Bold and straight to the point.
Here’s my 56 offering.

Hi Dog-eared books,
I tried to send a private message, but unfortunately some of the message box is out of range, including the send button.
What I wrote to say was...
I've decided not to sink money into advertising my latest book, 'Who Killed Dave?' - a murder mystery with a decidedly Janet Evanovich bent. Rather give away 50 copies to bloggers who agree to review it. (no one's obliged to give favourable reviews).
I'm a previously published author with Hardie Grant, and a regular writer for ABC Organic Gardener, but decided to go it alone with this one and stand by my principles and make it a sustainable read.
Hence it's printed on recycled paper, uses vegetable inks, and is carbon offset. You can read more at www.togetherpress.com The offer of a free book is open to Australians only.
You might even like to let people know they can nab their own free copy. Not many more left!
Cheers
Linda
